Fest to bring food, music and fun to Fruita

An annual event featuring live music, food and an assortment of activities will soon return to Fruita.

The Alpine Bank Fruita Fall Festival is set for Sept. 27 to 29 at Circle Park, Civic Center Park and other venues.

The fest is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Sept. 27 with vendor booths, a beer garden and activity area. An annual outhouse race is set for 5:30 and a music and clothing beauty pageant at 7.

The fest is set to continue Sept. 28 with a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. and farmers market from 8:30 to 10 a.m. A parade and disc golf tournament are set for 10. Baking, canning and pie-eating contests also are planned.

On Sept. 29, the fest will feature a free yoga class at 10 a.m., worship service at 10:30 and pumpkin decorating contest at 11:30.

Live music on two stages will include performances by Craig Wayne Boyd, That Damn Sasquatch, the Morgan Crouse Band, Stonefed, Stray Grass, Jenny Tolman, Wave 11, the Williams Brothers Band and more.
