Firm to demonstrate cloud-based accounting services

A Grand Junction accounting firm will host a series of demonstrations of new services offering cloud-based bookkeeping, payroll and paperless document management.

Grand Mesa CPAs plans group demonstrations at 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in October. Individual appointments also may be scheduled.

Ed Branson, managing partner of Grand Mesa CPAs, said the new services allow business owners and their employees and accountants to work simultaneously with information stored on computer servers on the Internet and accessed online from anywhere there’s an Internet connection.

Businesses can bill customers and pay employees or vendors while accountants can reconcile accounts and produce financial reports in real time, Branson said. Moreover, cloud-based accounting eliminates concerns about backups, software updates and virus protection, he said.

The cost of cloud-based services can be less than traditional services, but offer benefits, Branson said. With cloud-based payroll services, employees can enjoy direct deposits and debit cards as well as online access to earnings reports.

The staff at Grand Mesa CPAs offers training and works with clients to customize services to meet their needs, Branson said. Business owners can specify access rights and tasks for each employee.

Grand Mesa CPAs is located 2754 Compass Drive, Suite 200. For more information, call 242-3260 or visit
