A retired Air Force officer who subsequently became a commercial lender has been named manager of two First National Bank of the Rockies locations in the Grand Valley.
Dave Maddox will manage the Redlands and Valley Plaza locations of the Grand Junction-based bank.
“I’m excited to be a part of an organization with more than 107 years of service to the Western Slope,” he said.
Maddox grew up in Grand Junction and earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from the University of Northern Colorado before receiving his Air Force commission in 1985.
He served in the Air Force for 22 years and was stationed in Panama, Germany and Italy as well as at U.S. bases. He served as an operations officer for a radar squadron during the conflict in Kosovo and was one of the chief planners for a North Atlantic Treaty Organization training mission in Iraq. He earned multiple military honors, including the Defense Meritorious Medal and campaign medals for Kosovo and Iraq.
Maddox retired from the Air Force in 2007 and returned to Grand Junction. He taught at Central High School for a short time before becoming a commercial lender.
Established in 1904 in Meeker, First National Bank of the Rockies now serves Western Colorado with locations in seven communities in the region. For more information, visit www.fnbrockies.com.
