Grand Valley Foot and Ankle Center offers a new laser treatment designed to relieve pain, inflammation and edema.
The Grand Junction practice is the only one in the region to offer multiwave locked system laser therapy. MLS laser therapy produces therapeutic wavelengths with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects while minimizing the risk of thermal damage.
“This treatment allows us to avoid anti-inflammatory and pain medications, which can sometimes have dangerous and uncomfortable side effects for patients. It is proven to relieve 90 percent of symptoms in about 90 percent of patients. That’s a tremendous outcome,” said Dr. Charles Daniel, owner of Grand Valley Foot and Ankle Center.
MLS laser therapy can be used to treat pain and inflammation associated with a variety of conditions, including arthritis, muscle sprains and strains, plantar fasciitis, post-surgical swelling, sports injuries and wounds. MLS laser therapy also has been shown to accelerate tissue repair and improve nerve function and vascular activity, Daniel said.
“The goal is always to get our patients back on their feet again with as little pain as possible. And this laser therapy is helping us do just that,” he said.
