Free event to help businesses address cyber security risks

An upcoming event in Grand Junction will offer information about how businesses can identify and address cyber security risks.

The free dine and learn event is set for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Factory coworking space at 750 Main St. A light dinner and refreshments will be served.

Todd Neilson, co-founder of Secuvant Cybersecurity based in Salt Lake City, will discuss the top seven cyber security risk areas businesses face.

Other speakers at the event will include Gene Fourney, chief executive officer of the InteractiveWest digital marketing firm with offices in Grand Junction and Denver; Eddie  Maldonado, senior territory account manager for the Jive Communications voice over Internet protocol provider; and Vic Garcia, a regional sales director with the VLCM information technology firm.

Secuvant will give a way a free cyber security vulnerability scan and Windows configuration audit worth $10,000. Jive Communications will offer participants a chance to try out its VOIP system. InteractiveWest will offer participants a free web hosting application checkup.
