The 2020 Fruita Fall Festival has been canceled, the Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce announced.
The City of Grand Junction announced the annual Porks and Hops barbecue and music festival also has been canceled.
The Fruita chamber board of directors voted to cancel the Fruita Fall Festival after determining it wasn’t possible to comply with state and county health regulations designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The chamber stated in a news release the organization is reaching out to vendors and event sponsors to handle refunds and payment allocations.
The chamber encouraged people to shop locally and also support the Fruita Farmers Market.
The City of Grand Junction similarly announced it was canceling the Porks and Hops Festival to comply with regulations intended to eliminate the risk associated with large crowds gathering in a single location.
