The City of Fruita has completed an infrastructure improvement project funded in part with a $50,000 grant from the Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District.
The Cedar Way project included replacing 935 feet of sewer lines between north Aspen Avenue between Ranchman’s Ditch and Pine Street, replacing 791 feet of sewer line in Cedar Way from Aspen Avenue to Pine Street, piping an open irrigation ditch in the alley between East Laura and Aspen Avenue between Ranchman’s Ditch and Pine Street, installing a new drain between the Pine Street and McCune Avenue intersection between Ranchman’s Ditch and continuing north of Aspen Street in Cedar Way, installing sidewalks and repaving Cedar Way from Aspen Avenue to Pine Street.
The total cost of the improvements and repairs was $540,000.
Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District awarded a $50,000 mini grant for the project as part of its spring 2018 grant cycle.
The district distributes federal mineral leasing funds to local public entities to support infrastructure, construction and public service projects that address the effects of energy development. For more information, visit www.mesafml.org.
