The Golden Gate Petroleum convenience store on U.S. Highway 50 near Whitewater is projected to open in mid-May.

Not only will it be the closest place for Whitewater residents to buy gas, it will serve Krispy Krunchy Chicken. The chicken won’t be available on the first day open. Golden Gate Petroleum Colorado Utah District Manager Adriane Smith-Maloney said serving Krispy Krunchy Chicken usually comes in the second week after a Golden Gate store opens.

Golden Gate originally targeted opening in October 2025, but Smith-Maloney said, “Some delays in overall planning did set us back a bit.”
