Going to the dogs — and cats: Film fest to benefit shelter

Proceeds from an upcoming film festival celebrating dogs will benefit the Roice-Hurst Humane Society in Grand Junction.

Showings of the Bow Wow Film Festival are set for 1 and 5 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Avalon Theater, 645 Main St. Tickets sell for $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets for children 12 and under sell for $5 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets are available online from www.avalontheatregj.com/events

The Bow Wow Film Festival travels the country to raise money and awareness for animal welfare organizations, including humane societies, pet food pantries and service dog groups.
