Reservations will be accepted through Nov. 22 for an upcoming seminar on government contracting opportunities.
Delta County Economic Development has scheduled the seminar for 10:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 2 at the Orchard City Town Hall.
Kathryn Lobdell, a procurement counselor with the Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Center in Grand Junction, will cover a number of topics related to government contracting:
Determining suitability for government contracting.
Identifying bid opportunities.
Securing necessary registrations.
Federal certification programs that offer contracting set-asides and other support for small businesses owned and operated by individuals who face social and economic disadvantages.
Bid and no bid decision making.
Teaming or joint venture arrangements.
The federal Procurement Technical Assistance Program helps businesses compete for government procurement opportunities on the federal, state and local levels. The federal government requires that almost 25 percent of all its procurement contracts be awarded to small businesses.
