Grand Junction business ranks among top waste and recycling firms

Rocky Mountain Sanitation in Grand Junction ranks among the top 100 waste and recycling firms in North America in the latest version of an annual list compiled for a trade publication.

Rocky Mountain Sanitation ranks 92nd in the Waste 100 compiled for Waste360 magazine. The 2014 ranking is based on 2013 revenues. Rocky Mountain Sanitation has made the Waste 100 six times.

“It’s pretty impressive considering our vast competition around the country,” said Lisa Mullen, owner of Rocky Mountain Sanitation. “It feels good to be among the cream of the crop in our industry.”

Rocky Mountain Sanitation also has ranked among the top 250 private companies in Colorado and fastest-growing privately held companies nationwide.

Rocky Mountain Sanitation was founded in 1997 with two trucks and one employee. The company since has expanded to 19 trucks and 23 employees operating out of a 6,000 square-foot building situated on more than 4 acres. The facility will further expand this summer with a 1,625 square-foot addition.

Mullen credited the growth to customer service. “We strive to provide the very best service we can. We have a team of great employees who believe in our service philosophy and practice it every day.”

“We’re thrilled to be in the top 100 again,” Mullen added. “We love what we do and wouldn’t be here without our great customers and team. This recognition helps further validate that our hard work and dedication over the past 17 years is truly paying off.”
