Grand Junction chamber honors expansive efforts

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce honored local businesses and organizations that invested a total of nearly $81 million in capital projects and created 103 jobs.

Community Hospital was among those receiving expansion awards at the latest quarterly chamber membership luncheon for opening a new hospital near 23 1/2 and G roads in March. About $76 million was invested in opening the three-story, 140,000 square-foot facility and 103 positions were added to the staff.

ColCal, a franchise that operates Taco Bell restaurants in the Grand Valley invested $2.88 million in restaurant renovations and added 10 jobs. Alpine Bank invested $1 million and created three jobs.

Hummel Real Estate was honored for a $500,000 capital investment and creating four jobs. MCC Drug and Alcohol Screening was honored for a $415,000 capital investment and creating two jobs. Red Rock Radio Group invested $80,000 and added two jobs. Unifirst Mortgage added four jobs to payrolls.
