Two Grand Junction physicians have expanded their practice by joining in a statewide affiliate program with Paladina Health.

Drs. Robert Boyer and Michael Gorman continue to operate Trailhead Clinics and provide primary care to new and existing patients, now including state employees within a 25-mile radius of Grand Junction.

Denver-based Paladina Health has expanded its services through a partnership with the State of Colorado and UnitedHealthcare.

“We’ve had an incredibly positive response to the expansion of our direct primary care practice with Paladina Health,” Boyer said. “The growth at the clinic has been more than triple what we usually see since we launched with Paladina Health.”

Gorman joined the practice to care for new patients, Boyer said.

State employees have had the option to use Paladina Health direct primary care services since 2015 through a partnership with State of Colorado for employees on a UnitedHealthcare plan. But access to Paladina Health doctors had been limited to the Front Range. Since the program was expanded starting in April, however, about 500 Grand Junction-area state employees and their families have taken advantage of Paladina Health services.

“It’s terrific to see these services offered to more State of Colorado employees,” said Markie Davis, manager of employee benefits and risk management for the State of Colorado. “The Paladina Health model improves access to quality health care and saves our employees time and money — two things that are invaluable to our workforce.”

Patient benefits include same or next day appointments in the office, around-the-clock access to their physicians by telephone or email and the ability to address multiple health issues in a single appointment.

Paladina Health services are now offered in a total of more than 50 physician offices in nine states. The expansion incorporates existing, independently operated doctor’s offices vetted to offer Paladina Health benefits in areas where the company doesn’t have brick and mortar locations. Paladina Health services are now available at 14 locations across Colorado.
