Grand Junction firm adds accreditations related to work on greenhouse gases

A Grand Junction-based engineering consulting company has earned additional accreditation to perform validation and verification services related to greenhouse gas emissions.

Ruby Canyon Engineering has meet American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accreditation program requirements and those set forth by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for greenhouse gases.

The firm becomes the first ANSI-accredited, third-party greenhouse gas validating and verifying body in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region.

“Adding these accreditations to our ISO 14065 verification body status only increases our abilities to serve a wider range of clients around the world,” said Mike Coté, president of Ruby Canyon Engineering.

The firm is accredited under the (ISO) to perform verification of assertions of greenhouse gas emissions and removals at an organizational level related to chemical and metal production, manufacturing, mining, power generation and waste processing. The firm also may conduct verifications of assertions of greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals at a project level related to fuel combustion, industrial processes, livestock and waste processing.
After 2010, nearly all greenhouse gas programs and registries will require third-party validation and verification services be performed by an ISO 14065 accredited entity.

Ruby Canyon Engineering offers a range of services to companies wishing to conduct greenhouse gas inventories, report emissions and plan carbon management strategies. Those services include economic feasibility studies, project documentation and monitoring and third-party validation and verification. For more information, visit www.rubycanyoneng.com.
