Grand Junction lottery sales generate in $3.2 million for projects

Retailers selling lottery and scratch tickets in Grand Junction collectively produced more than $3.2 million in proceeds during 2012, according to new statistics from the Colorado Lottery.

Over the past 30 years, the Colorado Lottery has returned more than $2.4 billion in proceeds to the state to fund conservation, open space, parks, recreation and wildlife projects. More than $66 million has gone to projects in Mesa County.

Recent examples of lottery grants include $122,000 for the redevelopment of Melrose Park and $250,000 for a new playground, arboretum and trails at Lincoln Park in Grand Junction.
