A grand opening celebration is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11 at Fat Cat Pottery, a paint-your-own pottery and wet clay studio in downtown Grand Junction.

Fat Cat Pottery is located at 634 Main St., Suite 101. The business offers a variety of resources to help people make functional art as well as memories.

Fat Cat Pottery offers hundreds of choices of pottery for people to paint, including bowls, boxes, figurines, mugs and plates. The studio finishes the pieces with a clear glaze and firing in a kiln. Fat Cat Pottery also offers wet clay for people to make their own pieces. The business accommodates parties and field trips and also offers a range of workshops.

Fat Cat Pottery is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The studio is open to people age 16 and over from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The grand opening will include refreshments provided by Octopus Coffee. Fat Cat Pottery will give away classes, pottery and more.
