A grand opening event is planned to celebrate an expanded facility and operation for a downtown Grand Junction business.

The Raw Canvas has scheduled what’s billed as Raw: X from 7 to 10 p.m. April 6 at 521 Main St. The event will feature local musicians as well as food and drinks.

The 4,500-square-foot facility includes the Raw Canvas custom tattoo studio as well as Raw: Gallery, a member-driven art gallery, and Raw: Apparel, which offers the Raw Canvas line of urban clothing and apparel from other local and regional vendors.

The expansion comes as the Raw Canvas marks its 10th year in business in the Grand Valley.

“We are so honored to have been part of the Grand Valley for the past 10 years. From the positive experiences we have provided to the unique atmosphere, we are finally able to bring the idea of the Raw Canvas to its full vision,” said Krista Young, studio manager.
