Grand Valley artist wins Art for Health competition

Jera Gross has won the latest Art for Health competition conducted by Family Health West, and her artwork will be displayed in the Family Health West hospital in Fruita.

While Gross works in many mediums, she prefers watercolors. She has lived in the Grand Valley since 1951 and began painting in 1989.

“We are thrilled to have Jera’s work in the hospital,” said Angelina Salazar, director of community relations for Family Health West. “Our patients, our staff, their families and friends all have the opportunity to not only view what our local artists are doing, they get to experience an environment that promotes healing.”
