Hardware store replaces stolen decorations

Ace Hardware has donated more than $5,000 worth of Christmas decorations to the Latimer House emergency shelter in Grand Junction to replace decorations stolen from a storage shed in April.

“This gift epitomizes what Christmas is all about — the spirit of giving. With this generous gift of Christmas decorations, we’ll be able to make Latimer House look and feel like Christmas for our clients,” said Jennifer Allen, fund-raising coordinator for the Latimer House program for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Mesa County.

Ace Hardware long has supported Latimer House, fielding a team for the Men in Heels benefit race and participating in other fund-raising activities.

A program of Hilltop Community Resources, Latimer House also provides advocacy, counseling and operates a crisis telephone line. For more information, call  241-6704 or visit the website located at www.htop.org/adult.lh.
