A health care organization has changed the name of its Fruita nursing home to reflect changes in the operation, but also a continued commitment to services.
Family Health West has changed the name of the facility to Courtyard Care Center.
Mark Francis, chief executive officer of Family Health West, said the operations of the organization have expanded beyond nursing home care. Moreover, the new name will better reflect physical changes planned for the nursing home.
“Family Health West has evolved into a comprehensive provider of health care services that reaches far beyond the nursing home to include Colorado Canyons Hospital & Medical Center, a number of medical practices, outpatient services and all our elder care facilities,” Francis said.
“Each of our health care service lines is becoming its own brand, operating under the umbrella of Family Health West. With the building of the new courtyard at the nursing home, along with future planned renovations, it was time to rebrand the nursing home as well,” Francis added.
Courtyard Care Center provides round-the-clock skilled nursing services along with access to Colorado Canyons Hospital and other medical practices. The center also offers dietary and nutritional programs; life-enriching activities; physical, speech and occupational therapies; and social services. Family Heath West long has been recognized for providing care to patients with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
The first phase of reconstruction of the Courtyard Care Center will include 10 skilled nursing rooms. Eventually, the facility will be renovated to offer private rooms and bathrooms as well as an activities area, cafeteria, kitchen and therapy gymnasium.
