Six health care professionals have been selected as Western Colorado finalists for a statewide award honoring their contributions.
Beth Brown of HopeWest, Courtney Kasun and Stacie Schreiner of Colorado Mesa University, Jackie Nishiya of Community Hospital and Don Ranus and Brent Walker of St. Mary’s Hospital were honored as Nightingale Luminaries for Western Colorado. They will represent the region at a statewide awards ceremony set for May 9 in Denver. The Nightingale Awards program honors nurses and other health care professionals whose work epitomizes the passion of Florence Nightingale.
An additional 26 health care professionals representing 12 organizations were honored as nominees: Patricia Beierle, April Bonata, Angela Brothers, Kana Dinkins, Dustin Duncan, Lucian Duncan, Jeanine Finnell, Emma Flowers, Carol Gallagher, Britney Guccini, Felicia Heinz, Jane Kostur, Patty Livingston, Ingrid Lyn, Suzie Mapes, Stephanie Marziano, Lynda McFarland Steinbach, Linda Myers, Karen Nelson, Tena Quillen, Linday Ross, Misty Russell, Halima Sadik, Julie Szasz, Katie Vitale and Jessica Walters.
