Crossroads Fitness in Grand Junction will challenge residents to join in a week-long event to improve their fitness — one step at a time.
The health club will host what’s billed as a 70,000-step challenge for Oct. 12 to 18 in which participants will pledge to walk at least 10,000 steps a day for seven consecutive days. The goal is to collectively log 25 million steps.
The event is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels and will offer them a pedometer to track their steps, a t-shirt, fitness pass, walking events, seminars and helpful tips. Each participant who completes the challenge and records their steps will be entered into a drawing for prizes from local businesses.
A fee of $10 will be charged Crossroads Fitness members and $20 for others. For more information, call 242-8746 or 241-7800.
