Health coach extends serves to individuals and employer groups

Paula Anderson, a certified health and wellness coach, now offers her expertise to local individuals and employer groups.

“Feeling conflicted in our attempts to take better care of ourselves affects a person’s health, their job performance and the ability to enjoy life,” Anderson said. “And when you’re stuck in your attempts to move forward, it’s easy to create a bigger barrier to any progress. We know what to do, but we can’t seem to move forward, and that’s frustrating.”

Anderson began integrating the goal-setting tenets of coaching nearly a decade ago, when she worked with patients at Primary Care Partners in Grand Junction for smoking cessation. She extended her services to help people with other lifestyle challenges.

She said she now focuses on helping people improve their eating habits, reduce stress and move more.

“It’s never about creating a complicated grand plan, but rather just defining simple goals and small steps to move the dial a bit,” Anderson said. “Once someone generally begins to just feel better and is more confident, it’s much easier for them to want to keep going in the same direction.”
