LIV Sotheby’s International Realty has announced it’s listing property owned in Mesa County by John Hendricks, founder and former chairman of Discovery Communications.
The listing includes the nearly 7,000-acre West Creek Ranch near Gateway as well as the Sky Adventures office building and hangar at the Grand Junction Regional Airport. The properties are priced at a total of $149 million.
“We look forward to reaching out to touch the same emotions in the next curator that inspired John Hendricks and drove him to preserve this fascinating and one-of-a-kind treasure in perpetuity for all to enjoy,” said Kerry Endsley, listing broker with LIV Sotheby’s International Realty.
The main residence at the West Creek Ranch offers more than 22,000 square feet of space that includes eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms on four levels accessed by an elevator, six fireplaces, a formal dining room, great room, library, theater, gymnasium, swimming pool and spa as well as a five-car garage. The residence offers geothermal heating and cooling and a backup generator.
The West Creek Ranch also includes a grass air strip and aircraft hangar, summer cabin, guest house and stables.
The land holdings include the 4,000-acre Sky Mesa and 78-acre Gills Meadows parcels protected under conservation easements that feature high plateau and Unaweep Canyon landscapes as well as the ruins of the historic Driggs Mansion.
The West Creek Ranch is surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands managed by the U.S Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service.
The Sky Adventures building and hangar at the Grand Junction Regional Airport includes more than 17,000 square feet of space and 11 offices that could be used or rented to third parties following the expiration of current leases.
