High school student named first Colorado Energy Scholar

Aerianna Preble of Parachute has been selected as the first recipient of college scholarships recognizing students pursuing careers in the energy industry in Western Colorado.

Preble was named 2016 Colorado Energy Scholar. The West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association funded the scholarship program with a $25,000 contribution. The Colorado Mesa University Unconventional Energy Center and foundation matched the gift. The scholarship covers tuition and fees, but also recognizes top West Slope students.
