Holiday celebration planned for Fruita

Breakfast with Santa, chili suppers and a variety of other events are planned for the annual Fruita Hometown Christmas and Parade of Lights.

The Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce and Grand Valley Power will present the full-day holiday celebration Dec. 14.

The event will include a breakfast with Santa starting at 9 a.m. at Dinosaur Journey Museum, a mitten tree and canned food drive starting at 2:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Park, a chili supper from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Fruita Community Center, a Christmas cantata at 4 p.m. at the Fruita United Methodist Church, a Catch the Claus mile run at 4:45 p.m. down Aspen Avenue, the parade at 5:30 p.m. and another chili supper at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church following the parade.
