HopeWest — a hospice, palliative care and grief support services provider based in Grand Junction — received recognition for providing high- quality and compassionate care to patients and their families.
HopeWest received the Hospice CAHPS Honors Award for 2024. The award is based on the results of the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey satisfaction measures from the point of view of caregivers.
“We acknowledge the privilege to be invited into the homes and lives of people experiencing tender moments while nearing the end of life,” said Cassie Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of HopeWest. “This survey gives caregivers a voice, allowing us to gain insight into both what’s going well and areas for improvement. This year, as many before, we not only met, but exceeded the expectations of the families we served. And I’m grateful for the hard work of our team members who kept our mission at the forefront of care.”
To be considered for the Hospice CAHPS Honors Award, HopeWest scored above the HEALTHCAREfirst national performance score on the Hospice CAHPS willingness to recommend question. An additional 23 indicators of quality also were evaluated and compared to the national performance score calculated from all partnering hospices.
