Two doctors, a philanthropic couple and Western Colorado bank will be honored at an annual benefit ball hosted by the St. Mary’s Foundation.
The black tie event, titled “A Night for Heroes,” is set for Sept. 26 at Two Rivers Convention Center in Grand Junction. For tickets or more information about sponsorships, call 298-7478.
Dr. C.K. “Mike” Wanebo will receive the Saccomanno Lifetime Achievement Award, while Dr. Charles Breaux Jr. will receive the Physician of the Year Award.
Rod and Nina Christ will receive the Philanthropists of the Year Award, while Alpine Bank will receive the Corporate Citizen of the Year.
“We’re really excited to be able to recognize these individuals and local companies, along with outstanding physicians like
Dr. Breaux and Dr. Wanebo at this year’s ball,” said Carmen Moyer, executive director of the St. Mary’s Foundation.
In addition to the awards presentations, the event will include dining and dancing. In 2014, the ball sold out with more than 700 attendees.
Proceeds from the event will go to the St. Mary’s Fund, which in turn supports cancer and stroke, cancer survivorship, palliative care and staff education and training programs.
ANB Bank and Don and Sue Sturm will serve as the presenting sponsor of the event.
“We have been so fortunate to be able to work with donors who see the impact of what St. Mary’s does in our community and care so deeply about our cause,” Moyer said.
The St. Mary’s Foundation raises funds for programs that benefit the community, including cancer care, cardiac rehabilitation and neonatal care. For more information, call 298-7569 or visit the Web site at www.stmarygj.org/aboutfoundation.
