A Hotchkiss company is among nine recipients of grants from the Colorado Department of Agriculture designed to develop new uses and markets for products grown, raised and processed in the state.
Two Brothers Organics received $15,000 to assist in the development and promotion of a line of all-natural products to meet current demand as well as help the company use more Colorado ingredients. The grant was the largest of the nine awarded through the Enrich Colorado Ag Grant Program
“The department takes great pride in the ability to support our local food and agricultural businesses,” said Tom Liptetzky, director of the markets division. “Although few grant programs offers support to benefit individual companies, our division works hard to provide as much assistance as possible.”
Shaina Knight, a business development specialist with the markets division, said 30 applications requesting a total of nearly $400,000 in funding were reviewed. “The department is excited to make an investment in these companies to help them reach their goals,” Knight said.
