An executive with more than 30 years of industry experience has been hired as the new president of American National Bank.
Koger Propst oversees a bank that operates a total of 36 locations in Colorado and Wyoming, including locations on the Western Slope and in Grand Junction.
“We are extremely pleased to have Koger join our banking group,” said Donald Sturm, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of American National Bank. “His leadership skills and banking experience will help our high-performing team of bankers serve the needs of our customers and develop stronger, long-standing and mutually satisfying banking relationships.”
The Sturm Financial Group, a privately owned Colorado bank holding company, owns American National Bank as well as Premier Bank, which operates locations in Kansas and Missouri. American National Bank has assets of more than $1.7 billion.
Prior to joining American National Bank, Propst served as executive vice president of FirstBank Holding Co. He previously served as president of several FirstBank locations.
Propst holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Denver and graduated from banking schools in Atlanta and Madison, Wis.
“As a locally owned, privately held banking organization, American National Bank is well positioned to thrive by providing true relationship banking,” Propst said. “I am honored and thankful for the opportunity to join the team as we fulfill this vital role in the local communities we serve.”
