The Junior Service League has presented the first of what the organization plans will be five, $5,000 checks to the Family Health West Foundation Go Baby Go program.
“This is an expensive and life-changing program for not only these kids, but their families as well. We simply could not do it without the tremendous support from Junior Service League,” said Stacy Mascarenas, director of the Family Health West Foundation.
The program pairs Family Health West pediatric therapists with students from Colorado Mesa University to modify ride-on cars for young children with limited mobility. The next Go Baby Go event is set for March 2 in Confluence Hall on the CMU campus in Grand Junction.
The Junior Service League has pledged to donate $5,000 a year for five years to fund the program.
Family Health West operates the Colorado Canyons Hospital and Medical Center in Fruita and provides a range of health care services. For more information, visit www.fhw.org.
