Latino chamber names award winner

Jerome Gonzales, the founder, president and chief executive officer of J.G. Management Systems in Grand Junction, has won the Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce Western Colorado Hispanic Advancement Award.

The award recognizes those who’ve advanced Hispanic culture or promoted economic development for the Hispanic community on the Western Slope.

Gonzales started J.G. Management Systems in 2001. In 2013, the technical and professional services firm became employee owned. Over the years, J.G. Management Systems has sponsored Entrepreneurship Day at Colorado Mesa University, and Gonzales has partnered with and mentored small business owners. The firm also has contributed nearly $130,000 to the Riverside Educational Center. Gonzales has served on boards overseeing the Business Incubator Center, Riverside Technology Corp. and Society of American Military Engineers.
