Library presentations to focus on historic topics

Mesa County Libraries has scheduled free presentations on the history of mining in Western Colorado and the effects of horses and European trade goods on Ute Indians.

The presentation on mining is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. July 18 at the Palisade branch at 119 W. Third St.

A talk and slide show on the effects of horses and European trade goods on the Utes and their lifestyle is set for 3 p.m. July 22 at the central library at 443 N. Sixth St. in Grand Junction.
