Three members of the staff at the Mesa County Public Libraries helped select the latest finalists and winners of the Colorado Book Awards.

Jennifer Murrell, a librarian, and Janet Alcon, a library associate, served as selectors. Donna Bettencourt, head of collection development for the libraries, served as a judge for the awards, Selectors read as many as 15 titles in contest categories. Judges review four finalists in each category and select winners.

Murrell has served as a selector for four years and a judge for one year. Alcon has served as a selector for three years. Bettencourt has served as a judge or selector every year since 2008.
