Local collaboration leads to Apple TV app

A Grand Junction company and the founders of a local nonprofit organization worked together to develop an application that offers easy access to television content produced by the group.

FastPXL created the application for Apple TV for Light Gives Heat. The app is available from the Apple TV App Store and can be downloaded for free. Access to the store and apps requires the new Apple TV and isn’t available on previous Apple TV models.

The LGHtv app provides quick access to digital content produced by Light Gives Heat, including the documentary “Moving On” and episodes from both seasons of the Web television series “The Find.”

FastPXL is a digital creative company specializing in iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple TV applications. The company develops software for local and national clients. For more information, visit www.fastpxl.com.

Dave and Morgan Hansow founded Light Gives Heat in 2007, initially selling paper bead necklaces and fabric bags to create jobs and income for people in Uganda. Light Gives Heat now produces “The Find” to tell the stories of businesses, organizations and individuals that change the lives of others. For more information, visit the Web site at www.lgh.tv.
