Major Mortgage named top USDA lender

Major Mortgage in Grand Junction was named the top-producing lender in Mesa County under the U.S. Department of Agriculture guaranteed housing program.

For the 2015 fiscal year, Major Mortgage funded nearly 30 percent of the more than $6.6 million in guaranteed loans in Mesa County, said Trudy Kareus, Colorado state director for USDA Rural Development.

The USDA guaranteed housing program offers borrowers a fixed interest rate loan for 30 years with no down payment. Participating lenders receive a 90 percent loan guarantee to offset risk.

“The USDA guaranteed loan program provides homeowners the opportunity to purchase more for their money. It’s a win-win for the homeowner and Major Mortgage,” said Dave Shepard, a senior loan originator with the firm.

Major Mortgage operates offices at 2474 Patterson Road, Suite 200. For more information, call 241-6100 or visit www.majormortgage.com.
