Mesa State College to host legislative conference

Mesa State College will host a conference designed to give participants a better understanding of federal legislative processes.
Mesa State will join with U.S. Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., in hosting the 2011 Colorado Capitol Conference.

“We’re very proud to partner with Colorado’s senior senator to continue this tradition,” said Mesa State President Tim Foster. “Giving our students and citizens from around the state the opportunity to visit with leaders at the highest levels of our government is a great opportunity for Mea State College and our region.”

Udall said: “This conference will help give participating Coloradans a better understanding of the legislative process in D.C. as well as the tools they need to become more active in public policy. I’m very excited to carry on this important tradition.”

The conference is scheduled for June 8 to 10, and 100 Colorado residents will be selected to participate through an application process.

Applications are due March 1, and conference participants will be announced April 4.
