The Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District awarded four grants worth a total of $350,000 in its latest funding distribution.
Colorado Mesa University received a $175,000 grant to support the construction of a new performing arts center on the Grand Junction campus.
The Town of De Beque received a $75,000 grant for sidewalk improvements downtown.
Mesa County School District 51 received a $50,000 grant for a new baseball field at Palisade High School.
The Grand Junction Downtown Development Authority received a $50,000 grant for barricades for downtown events.
The Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District distributes federal mineral leasing funds to local public entities to support infrastructure, construction and public service projects that address the effects of energy development. Since its inception in 2011, the district has awarded more than
$11 million to entities in Mesa County.
