A man with experience in both the hospitality and outdoor sports industries has been hired as the new general manager of a luxury guest ranch near DeBeque.
Bob Edwards will oversee operations at Kessler Canyon, including staffing, budgeting, project management and guest interaction.
“Edwards’ extensive hospitality knowledge and experience in the outdoor sports and recreation industry make him the ideal candidate for our Colorado wildlife experience,” said Richard Kessler, chairman and chief executive officer of the Kessler Collection, a group of luxury properties in five states that includes Kessler Canyon.
Edwards served as general manager of the Deep Water Cay Club in the Bahamas and Cheyenne Ridge Outfitters and Signature Lodge in South Dakota and, most recently, as senior vice president and general manager of the Gilchrist Club Resort and Conference Center in Florida.
In addition, Edwards founded the U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship and Homestead Shooting School in Virginia. He designed the Homesteading Sporting Clays Course.
Edwards also served as shotgun sports manager for the National Rifle Association and waterfront and gun club director at the Cloister Resort in Georgia.
Spanning 23,000 acres, Kessler Canyon offers luxury accommodations, gourmet cuisine and such outdoor recreational activities as fly fishing and big game hunting. For more information about Kessler Canyon, call 283-1145 or log on to www.kesslercanyon.com.
