Nominations will be accepted through 1 p.m. Jan. 11 for annual awards recognizing small businesses for their contributions to local communities and the national economy.
The U.S. Small Business Administration will present the latest awards during National Small Business Week, set for May 2 to 6 in Washington, D.C.
Nomination forms as well as guidelines for submitting nominations are available online at www.awards.sba.gov. Nominations may be submitted to the Web site or sent directly to SBA district offices across the country.
The SBA selects a Small Business Person of the Year from each state and U.S. territories and from among those winners picks a national winner.
The SBA also presents awards to the Exporter of the Year, Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year, Small Business Subcontractor of the Year, Lender of the Year, Small Business Investment Company of the Year and Veterans Business Outreach Center of the Year. In addition, the agency recognizes businesses, public officials and volunteers involved with disaster recovery as well as small business development and women’s business centers.
