Wilson received the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Human Caring in the category for leadership in clinical practice.  The award honors nurses who exemplify the practices of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale.

Wilson works as a clinical nurse specializing in vascular access and infusion therapy.

“As a leader, Kathleen is known for her ability to encourage, support bring out the best from other nurses on the team,” said Kristin Gundt, chief nursing officer at Community Hospital. “We are so proud to have someone of Kathleen’s caliber on our staff.”

Wilson is active in the Infusion Nurses Society and sits on the review board for the Journal of Infusion Nursing. She also serves on a medical preparation advisory committee for Colorado Mesa University and volunteers at the Marillac Clinic.
