Organization distributing food boxes to seniors

The Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies distributes food boxes for low-income seniors once a month.

Distributions are set for 2 to 4 p.m. the third Thursday of the month at the food bank warehouse at 268 N. River Road in Palisade. Boxes are available to adults age 60 and over who meet income requirements. Boxes contain nonperishable items provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Commodity Supplement Food Program,

“We know many seniors are making difficult choices between paying for food or paying for essentials like medicine and utilities. Being able to share this resource with them is so important,” said Sue Ellen Rodwick, manager of the Western Slope Food Bank of the Rockies.
