Orthopaedic practice launches educational program

Physicians with Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates in Grand Junction have launched a new educational series for personal trainers.

Presentations are scheduled for 11 a.m. the third Tuesday of the month at Gold’s Gym, 700 Maldonado Way in Grand Junction. The Sept. 16 event will feature Dr. Thea Wojtkowski and information about knee disorders and proper rehabilitation.

“We saw a need for this level of medical insight into personal training,” said Mike Zamora, outreach coordinator at Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates. “Ultimately, we want to familiarize the trainers with a variety of common sports-related injuries, how to prevent those injuries from happening and how to properly rehabilitate those injuries.

Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates provides a range of services related to the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases of the bones, joints and muscles. For more information, visit www.rmodocs.com.
