Orthopaedic practice launches program to honor coaches

Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates in Grand Junction has launched a new awards program recognizing high school coaches in Mesa County School District 51.

The District 51 Coach of the Year award will honor coaches who demonstrate excellence, integrity, responsibility and sportsmanship. Student nominations will be accepted through April 25. A selection committee will pick the winner in May.

“We wanted a way to recognize the hard work and dedication that coaches put in to leading their teams, even if they don’t have a winning season,” said Mike Zamora, outreach coordinator for Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates.

To submit a nomination, students should log on to the Web site at d51coachoftheyear.com. For more information about Rocky Mountain Orthopaedic Associates, visit www.rmodocs.com.
