Owner of downtown book store retiring

The owner of a downtown Grand Junction book store has announced her plans to soon retire and close the store.

Cheryl and Jim Lucas opened Crystal Books and Gifts in 1987. The existing inventory and fixtures of the store will be sold in the coming weeks, Lucas said.

“Over three decades ago my late husband, Jim Lucas, and I opened Crystal Books and Gifts with the quote from ‘Illusions.’ ‘To bring anything into your life, imagine that it’s already there.’ It has been a wonderful journey, but it is time to reimagine that quote for the next chapter of my life,” Lucas said. “I have chosen to retire to be able to spend more time with my new husband, grandchildren, their parents, family and friends.”

Located at 439 Main St., Crystal Books and Gifts offers an eclectic inventory of books, greeting cards, jewelry, music and statuary. For more information, call 242-5181 or visit the website at www.crystalbooksandgifts.com.
