Alluvia Packraft in Grand Junction is among four companies selected to participate in an accelerator program for startup ventures in the outdoor industry.

Moosejaw, an outdoor gear and apparel retailer, offers the program in partnership with the ICELab business resource center at Western Colorado University in Gunnison. 

The eight-week accelerator program is set to begin May 9 and include mentoring, legal resources, a product launch and an opportunity to exhibit at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market.

Alluvia Packraft makes lightweight, packable, inflatable boats. The boats can packed down to the size of a roll of paper towels and weigh less than a gallon of water.

Mariana Cevallos, co-founder and chief executive officer of the company, grew up in Peru and moved to Colorado in 2015.

“Alluvia welcomes everyone to explore the outdoors,” Cevallos said. “And with the support of the accelerator program, we hope to gain valuable tools that will drive further awareness of Alluvia, enabling the brand to deepen its commitment to diversity and give back to our community.”

The other companies participating in the upcoming accelerator program include Lume Six, No Limbits and Outdoor Element.
