An oil painting depicting bottles and glasses of wine in the foreground and rows of grape vines in the background has been selected to commemorate the 20th annual Colorado Mountain Winefest.
The Patricia Carroll painting, titled “Colorado Nectar,” will be used for advertising and marketing materials as well as for hats, shirts and posters.
The painting was selected in a juried competition. “We had a number of brilliant entries this year. We are so happy with Patricia’s work and we’re excited to use the piece to commemorate our 20th year,” said Sarah Catlin, executive director of the Colorado Mountain Winefest.
Carroll, an artist from Woodland Park, said, “Being selected as the award winner is an amazing blessing since my dream is to support myself selling my art and this honor is the first step to realizing that goal.”
The Colorado Mountain Winefest is set for Sept. 15 to 18 with events in Palisade and other venues in the Grand Valley. The annual event serves as a fund-raiser for the Colorado Association of Viticulture and Enology, a trade group for grape growers and winemakers.
