Joseph Scanlon has been promoted to general manager of the Wine Country Inn in Palisade.
Scanlon succeeds Jerome Strack, who resigned to accept a management position with a major hotel chain.
Scanlon brings to his new position 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including training as a sommelier and the operation of upscale restaurants in Arizona. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Scanlon has worked at the Wine Country Inn for two years as operations manager. He expanded the menu and services at the Tapestry Lounge and will oversee the service and wine cellar at Caroline’s, a fine dining venue scheduled to open in April at the hotel.
“We are pleased that Joe accepted our offer, because his experience as operations manager will ensure we have a seamless transition going into our busy season,” said Richard Tally, owner of the Wine Country Inn. “The move just makes sense.”
Scanlon said he’s looking forward to his new duties. “In my new role I intend to focus on keeping up the very high standards we’ve set for warm and gracious service.
