Paperwork available for District 51 School Board candidates

Completed petitions will be accepted until 4 p.m. Aug. 30 for candidates running for two seats on the Mesa County District 51 School Board.

Seats from districts A and B will be filled in the November election. District boundaries are available from the website at www.d51schools.org. School board members serve four-year terms.

Candidates must be a registered voter and have lived in the district they plan to represent for at least a year before the election. Candidates also must file a written notice of intention and a petition with the signatures of at least 50 eligible voters.

Petitions are available from the District 51 Office of the Superintendent at 2115 Grand Ave. in Grand Junction. Completed petitions must be turned into the same office.
