An annual event showcasing a total of 10 homes constructed by eight different builders is scheduled to continue Oct. 9 to 11 in the Grand Valley.
The Parade of Homes is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 9 and 10 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11. Tickets for the Parade of Homes sell for $10 and are available at area City Market stores.
Nine out of the 10 homes are located in the Grand Junction area. One home is in Fruita. Most of the homes were custom built and privately owned, but a few are on the market and available for purchase.
“There truly is something for everyone in this year’s parade with homes ranging in price from around $150,000 to just under $1 million,” said Traci Weinbrecht, executive officer of the Housing and Building Association of Northwestern Colorado, which stages the event. “There are great starter homes, family homes and even homes for people in the market to downsize.”
Parade homes range in size from 1,350 square feet to 5,748 square feet and include a variety of features, Weinbrecht said. “As you tour through the homes you’ll see walls made entirely of glass, acrylic flooring, theater rooms with stadium style seating, a guest casita and energy efficient homes with utility bills as low as $30 to $40 per month. There are too many features to list. You have to see these homes to experience just how special and unique they are.”
The Parade of Homes features the work of G.J. Gardner Homes, Kerstetter Homes, Maves Construction, Pauls Residential Construction, Porter Homes, Senergy Builders, Signature Homes of Colorado and Zag Built. The builders will be on site during the parade to point out special features and answer questions.
